Midnight Trips

As the end of May drew near, Kevin had to rectify a medical condition with a relatively less major operation.

To avoid having to intubate him during the operation, the doctors decided that half body anaesthesia would be safer. So came the operation day, my mum and myself got everything in order and accompanied him for the operation. To start with, he started to cough more suddenly the night before and couldn't get much sleep. Hungry, due to fasting, and tired he headed for the procedure.

Just as I was about to hand over my credit-card for payment, he suddenly called to tell me that he had just vommitted. It did not help that he was extremely jittery about the whole thing. The surgeon was very kind and understanding.... she came out after completing a surgery to talk to him. As he was already feeling unwell, we decided to postpone the surgery till a later day.

The whole incident probably took a toll on him as he suddenly became down with high fever upon reaching home. His temperature was yoyo-ing between 37.9 to 38.8 degree celcius. To make matters worse, he had episodes of urine obstruction and there was a night when I had to "fly....according to my driving standards.." to SGH at 11pm and 4.30am at a go. Having a phobia of hospitals, he refused to be hospitalised so his oncologists had to work around monitoring via smses.

Well, we really thank The Lord once again for all the assistance the doctors rendered to us and his fever was subdued and there were no further complications other than the bout of viral infection.

Busy Bee

It has been certainly been quite awhile since I have last updated the blog.... Time has really flown by and 24 hours is certainly not enough for a day!

Eversince Kevin became stronger, many activities were packed in between cooking, chores and catching many winks! Even Meagan, our "baby girl", came home for the month of May to boost his spirits. For those who hasn't gotten a chance to interact with Meagan, our cross retriever labrador, her gentle disposition and constant need for companionship made her a perfect match for her "daddy" who feels happier with her by his side.

Many plans were drawn up in the month of May in anticipation that I wouldn't have the time upon returning to work in June. We tried to squeeze in trips to KL to hang out with his good buddies along with the busy schedule to see the various doctors, blood tests and his TCM doctor. However, due to some medical complications, the trips were cut short and cancelled.

Even though there was a change in plans, we decided and had a good time re-planning our home layout. Kevin love to tell people about my queet habit in shifting furniture around the house. Having lived in our home for only 4 years, our friends have seen at least 6 or more different layouts. So this time, I had an excuse ..... get ready for my parents to move in with us as I was due to return to work.
